My husband’s 31st birthday was an extra special one, as I got to work on my favourite personal project to date – a recipe cook book from all of his favourite people, near and far. With the help of these many talented chefs we got the book to a whopping 156 pages!
So many loved recipes were shared, some passed down from generations, many from different cultures. I hope in the years to come, he’ll remember that when he was given this book, he was living across the world from home, in London, while the world was going through a global pandemic and while racism was at the forefront of society. Yet despite being physically farther away from friends and family than we’ve ever been, people from all areas of his life still came together to share their love.
A quote I found while designing this book summed up this feeling for me pretty well. “The thing I absolutely love about food is it’s a common thread that connects us no matter what culture we come from.” – Poh Ling Yeow.
Thank you to all of the chefs who contributed your beautiful recipes with us.
